Recovery is not easy, but it is essential for people with addiction. A Beach Rehab in Florida is the ideal setting to find peace and serenity. Waking up each day in a serene environment is soothing and relaxing for the soul. The time after rehab is the best time to focus on your needs and desires to stay clean and sober but first you have to build a foundation in treatment. Among them is the need to find some peace after addiction. Some peace that helps you move forward into a new space with yourself and those around you.

Science says the waves and sand does the mind and body good. Did you know the beach is nicknamed the “vitamin sea”? In fact, according to an analysis of English census data published in the journal Health Place, those who live by the coast report better physical and mental health than those who don’t. Why not start your rehab in St. Pete Beach located in Florida?

Finding Spiritual Ground

Looking deeper than the surface requires going into personal lives to see what is beneath the layers. Spiritual practice can help deepen an understanding of what brought you to this place you are now and where you are going. It makes you realize there is a greater power operating in your life. Having a spiritual foundation can bring peace and calm during times of uncertainty, which reminds you of the good things you have in life. Finding a centering point like in meditation, yoga, or some other practice can be very healing through the ups and downs of recovery. At Transformations by the Gulf, we use the beach as a way to help people find some peace and serenity to aide them in their recovery.  A nice peaceful meditation at the beach or even a walk through a beach Zen Garden promotes good energy within.

Practice Patience

If you want to let go of old habits, be patient. Stand still and know you are going to make it through this trial in your life. Recovery is a process that unfolds over a lifetime. A major pitfall in recovery is the expectation you will experience positive life-changing events right away. Recovery is about small steps. This means profound changes that recovery brings include the daily bits people can be grateful for in their lives. To achieve peace, we need to slow down long enough to enjoy the journey, made up of many small things that lead to bigger things, down the road.

Be Accepting

Peace comes from knowing yourself. It comes from learning to love and accept yourself as you are. All the faults, even if you have too many you feel you cannot count, are what make you unique. It makes you who you are at this moment. It helps to focus on the positive and accept yourself as much, if not more than you might accept someone else on their journey. Some helpful tips:

  • Speak kindly to yourself as you would a loved one or even a stranger.
  • Release self-talk that is negative or unaccepting of who you are.
  • Don’t define yourself by the past or mistakes.
  • Accept today is the only day you can change yourself to be better tomorrow.

The path to peace is paved with good intentions. It all starts with finding quality treatment for drug addiction. As someone in recovery, you can find ways to get past some of the struggles on your own but finding true inner peace is a lifelong journey. Peace and joy are just waiting on the other side of treatment, with the right mindset and heart open to the journey.

The success of a person’s recovery depends on the level of personalized treatment provided. It is important to find an addiction treatment program that works.  When we say our treatment is individualized, we mean that we craft a program that is tailored to address the client’s unique physical, mental and emotional needs.

In the client’s first 24 hours with us, we’ll evaluate their current state and work to understand what challenges they need to overcome. They’ll also have an initial session with our doctor and meet with one of our licensed mental health professionals.

After the initial evaluations, we’ll design a treatment plan with the sole mission of helping the client overcome and heal from addiction. Their program will focus on things such as:

  • Addressing and Identifying root causes of addiction.
  • Creating a support system.
  • Developing healthy stress management techniques.
  • Eliminating Substance use.
  • Learning how to communicate emotions effectively.
  • Maintaining a healthier lifestyle.
  • Repairing damaged relationships.

Our Facility is near the beach and offers a comfortable setting for substance abuse treatment and recovery.
