Mary Gambrell, CAP, LCSW
Clinical Director
Mary D. Gambrell, CAP, LCSW is a clinical social worker. Ms. Mary D. Gambrell has 3 years of experience in clinical social work. A clinical social worker provides direct services, including interventions focused on interpersonal interactions, intrapsychic dynamics, and life management issues. Clinical social work services are based on biopsychosocial perspectives. Services consist of assessment, diagnosis, treatment (including psychotherapy and counseling), client-centered advocacy, consultation, evaluation, and prevention of mental illness, emotional, or behavioral disturbances.
Dr. Herbert Gersh, M.D.
Medical Director
Dr. Herbert Gersh is a physiatrist in Treasure Island, Florida. He received his medical degree from The Robert Larner, M.D. College of Medicine at The University of Vermont and has been in practice for more than 20 years. A physiatrist are physicians who specialize in helping patients with disabilities. His focus is rehabilitation, restoration of function and a return to a high quality of life. Subspecialties include General Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
Shannon Munz DNP, PHMNP, FNP-C

I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with a passion for helping people of various backgrounds. Whether transitional phases and challenges are work-related, personal, or social; it can cause us to become out of equilibrium. My goal is to help you get back to you your best and truest self. Small daily stressors can slowly deteriorate our wellbeing and my goal is to prevent the small problems from becoming serious ones. We can help you improve the quality of your life if you are prepared to put in the work. My intention is not to repress your emotions with medications but to assist you in making clear decisions that will improve your life. I look forward to helping you achieve your best state of mind.
Jacqueline Gabriele, BA, CRPS, CRA
Primary Therapist
Jacqueline completed her undergraduate studies at the University of South Florida. She majored in psychology with a minor in addiction studies. She is continuing her education and is currently attending her graduate program, working toward her master’s degree and licensure in mental health counseling. Jacqueline is also a certified recovery peer specialist and a certified recovery residence administrator. Jacqueline has a passion for working with those struggling with substance abuse; she is in recovery and can relate firsthand to the needs of our clients.
Taylor Cate, CRRA
Certified Recovery Residence Administrator
Taylor is our Certified Recovery Residence Administrator. She ensures that Transformations by the Gulf maintains a sober, safe, and wellness-oriented living environment that promotes sustained recovery from substance use conditions. CRRAs ensure that oversight of staff, volunteers, and residents aligns with the standards established by the Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR).
Nichole Moninger, M.S.W., R.T.(T)(ARRT)
Therapist & Compliance Officer
Nichole completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. She then earned a Master of Social Work degree in Interpersonal Practice with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Families from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor as well. Nichole can relate personally to our clients because she is also in recovery.
Julia Stepleton, MA, MS, LMHC
Mental Health Counselor
Julia began working in the field of alcoholism and drug addiction in the 1990s and received certification from the International Institute for Addiction Professionals in 1991. She became a Trauma Resolution Specialist in 2012. She has worked in many treatment centers, both nonprofit and private, in the United States and abroad. She has been with TBTG since 2011, where she is appreciated for her outstanding work with women recovering from alcoholism, drug addiction, and codependency.
Kathleen Rodriquez, MSW, LCSW, CCTP
Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Kathleen counsels adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, self-worth, suicidal ideation, or who have experienced trauma. I also teach parenting skills and address parent-child relational issues. We can work together to help you find the coping skills and boundaries to live the life you were made for!
Joseph Scarce, MA MFT ATR-BC
Art Therapist
Joe Scarce is a registered board certified art therapist. Joe has a master’s degree in art therapy and marriage and family therapy. Joe has been providing art therapy services to families in the Tampa Bay area for over 15 years. As an Art Therapist, he provides art directives and art-making activities to increase insight into emotional conflicts. Art Therapy is an excellent way to share ideas, improve communication skills, and increase self-esteem.

Scott is a Master Clinician with over 20 years of experience in effectively treating substance use disorders, behavioral health issues, and major life changes for adults, couples, teens, and families from all walks of life. His therapeutic philosophy begins with “start where the client is.” Working with Scott, each person is guided through positive change by a custom-designed and individualized plan of care using a host of evidence-based and solution-focused therapies to help them reach their full, healthy and happy potential.
