Mr. Paul West began working with the chronic mentally ill in 1996. In 2000 he worked as a substance abuse counselor for the Fulton State Hospital in Missouri. In 2004, Paul began working as a substance abuse counselor for Operation PAR, Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Consultants, and the Salvation Army. Paul continues to work with Solutions as a lead counselor for the Veteran’s Drug Court in Pinellas County and provides anger management classes for offenders that are on probation with theDepartment of Corrections. Paul works with Transformations by the Gulf, providing services for anger management and substance abuse counseling.
Mr. West received his bachelor’s degree in psychology at Columbia College in 1999. He received his Master’s degree in counseling at Springfield College in 2006. He also has a Master’s in psychology, which he received from Capella University in 2015. Paul is a registered mental health counselor intern in the state of Florida. He also holds credentials from the Florida Certification Board as a certified addictions professional and a certified mental health professional. Paul has received two honorable discharges from the U.S. Army, where he served for eight years during the Vietnam conflict. One of his major personal goals is to write a book on anger and addiction.
